The cold war in cinema
About the film:
The movie "The Good Shepherd" was written by Eric Roth and directed by Robert De Niro in the year 2006. This outstanding film was nominated for 1 Oscar and is an intelligenly written film. This movie is about a man named Edward Wilson, played by actor Matt Damon, who leads CIA covert opperations during the Bay of Pigs. The agency suspects that Castro was tipped, so Wilson looks for the leak. As he investigates, he recalls, in a series of intense flashbacks, his father's death, when he was a student at Yale, recruitment into the OSS, truncated affairs, a shotgun marriage, distance from his son, the emergence of the Cold War, and relationships with the agency. We watch his idealism give way to other things: disclosing that something else is at the heart of the film's narration as he closes in on the leak.

My take on the film:
The film was very intellegently written and directed and I believe that Matt Damon was an outstanding actor in the film and played his part as Wilson very accuratly. The Cold War is a difficult topic to tackle due to the many different aspects to it and I believe that this film does an incredible job of showing how one thing lead to another. The films graphics and location was perfect and I though in my personal opinons that the film was well put together.
